Princess Party by MC was co-founded by mother-daughter team, Mary Carroll and Tessa Dougherty in LaGrange, IL. Since our start in 2018, we have grown into a company of over 17 actors and actresses. Our goal is to provide incredible attention to your child’s events with our combined expertise in performing arts and party planning. We pride ourselves on bringing the highest level of detail to our characters/princesses, creating a truly magical experience for children and adults alike. Our team has early education experience, and professional theatre experience that we use to develop a program that captures the imagination, assuring that your child will be thrilled and delighted with our character interactions.
Meet Our Founders
Tessa Dougherty
Tessa is a Sarah Lawrence College Theatre graduate. She is loves to act and also enjoys improvisation. She has performed and trained at Chicago's Second City Theatre, is a current member of their Conservatory program and had a running show called A Family Affair at Chicago's IO theatre.
Mary Carroll Dougherty
Mary Carroll is an actress and improvisor and a mother of 4 daughters who all loved to play dress-up and make believe. A passionate host and party planner for over 20 years, and a previous teaching assistant at Methodist Pre-School led to starting Princess Party.
How the Magic Began
In 2018, we started Princess Party by MC by simply wanting to have a fundraiser for our neighbors and friends, The Palermo family. Their daughter, Kate, had been diagnosed with Leukemia. We wanted to do something special, to bring attention, and to show love.
We spread word through our neighborhood and the result was magical. So many kids and families joined us in celebrating Kate. We donated over $2,500 to Lurie Children's Hospital in Kate Palermo's name.

We are dedicated to supporting cancer research, and to spreading joy and the message of helping others. A portion of the proceeds will always go to this these efforts. Thank you for your support.
